The GWOC like last year will be very interesting. Who ever can come together as a team, will be the one to come out on top. The top 3 teams will have their point scorers, it will be up to the ones that are not 'high profile' guys step up and get the points for the team to end up on top just like last years race went.
As far as Datillo getting a good draw, bla bla bla, he got the job done to make it to the finals. Others should learn to do it, then talk about it. Vince is a good guy along with his Dad who is class act and good friend. There are some similarities between the two. Dad's of small stature with much bigger boys
Vet dad is correct with which team wins the GWOC or for that matter any team.Last year Miamisburg and Beavercreek were in the hunt to win the meet. The difference was the second tier kids won valuable win team points by winning key matches in the wrestle offs. There is always balance in this league because there are many excellent wrestlers from many teams. The Miamisburg kids wrestled and score points as a team and did better in this area than creek did.Dual meets between teams don't even play into this equation on who will win the GWOC.The unknown factors will be grades/ injuries/kids growing out of a weight class and most important how are your team is wrestling at the end of the season .This league is talented to say the least and for this Beavercreek homer I'm excited the season is about to begin.Vet dad good luck to your boy I'm rooting for him to follow the same path as last year's success.Go Creek.

I may be wrong, but wasn't it Centerville that was "in the hunt" with Burg? Didn't they finish ahead of Beavercreek. I think Beavercreek was a little closer to Butler.
There were four teams in the hunt for the GWOC title towards the end of the meet last year. You are perhaps correct(w/o researching ) with three teams finishing in a bunch for runnerup behind Miamisburg.I know as a beaver fan with the team we had last year it was disappointing to me to finish second or third. The other team that isn't mentioned much in this thread is Vandalia-Butler whih has some very good wrestlers. It probably was Centerville second closely followed by Beavercreek and Vandalia. This year it's really hard to say where they will end up as far as a pecking order but there should be Springboro and my pick for a sleeper Fairmont in the mix.I don't see the Beavers winning this year the title but stranger things have happen.(grades/weights/injuries)I do see the beavers the next two years being much stronger with more experience under their belt.We can look at the top tier teams many have mention on paper to possibly win this tough group but a loss of a key wrestler or two due to above reasons on the top teams pulls the other teams up as possible league champs. It's that balanced of a league in my view. It's going to depend on this factor and equallly how each team is wrestling at the end of the season .Season starts tonight with a dual Fairfield vs Beavercreek @ Beavercreek varisty meet starts @ 7pm.
it's interesting to see where the GWOC teams are at now that the season is winding down... it seems that centerville and fairmont are the ones that are "in the hunt", and while springboro had all the hype in november they seem to have fallen off the map
1. Miamisburg 177.0
2. Centerville 171.5
3. Beavercreek 149.5
4. Butler 149.0
5. Fairmont 129.5
6. Northmont 125.0
7. Piqua 121.0
8. Springboro 93.5
------------------------------
These are the team results from last year's meet and it's loaded with talented wrestlers but they are spread out on the various teams. My view is Beavercreek,Norhtmont,Butler move down the list and Springboro moves up the list.(my view)Now it gets interesting and the teams in my view are Centerville,Fairmont,Miamisburg,Springboro that possiblity might win it.There are kids in these four programs that are favored to win their weight classes or have a shot at winning a title. Now the winner in my view is the team that wins the key matchups in these wt classes and have their second tier kids wrestle thru the loser's bracket and place. My head tells me it's Centerville winning this thing in a close log jam of the four teams but my sleeper team is Springboro(gut feeling) but folks this meet is going to be close just like last year's meet. GWOC is one tough conference with many from other teams not mentioned having some studs but not enough firepower as the four teams mentioned. This is a great meet to watch as a fan and it all starts next weekend @Fairmont.
Springboro is almost 100% healthy and look for a rapid climb in the GWOC rankings
I would look for Springboro to move up rapidly amongst the ranking here in GWOC.
Boro should have healthy line up next week after a long year of injuries, we were only 2 wrestler down last night against Lebanon versus 4 or 5 wrestlers injured. Now all should wonder how the GWOC DI teams standings will be in the weeks to come. The Panthers should be healthy and ready to grapple to win. I can say after 8 years in the program Coach Root has one of best line up going into the end of the season I can remember in my time at Boro....plus we have all the secrets Dehart gave us in our bags too beside the Root techniques!!
We have some tough competition here and I like what I see in all the schools. It's about time!! Work hard and stay healthy all wrestlers!
