preliminary info is one of the running backs had over 200 yards rushing

Czyz had 3 catches, 2 for TD

the local refs, who for those outside the Bay Area, seem to really nitpick DLS when they play local teams that appear to be overmatched, for example last year when they penalized the PA announcer, called about 200 yards of penalties on DLS, including three penalties that negated long TDs

after one of those negated TDs, DLS threw its first interception of the year

The Liberty TDs came just before half and with less than 2 minutes to go in the game

Sounds like a nice win for DLS.

Last night SLC thrashed a 1-4 team (Haltom) 58-6.

SLC had 4 possessions in the first quarter all of which resulted in TDs.
-- First possession: Three plays and a TD.
-- Second possession: Three plays and a TD.
-- Third possession: One play and a TD
-- Fourth possession: One play and a TD

30 seconds into the 2nd quarter SLC scored again making the score 35-0.

Halftime score was 51-0 after SLC scored another TD and THREE FGs in the 2nd quarter. In the first half, SLC scored on all nine of their possessions.

Many starters will pulled in the 2nd quarter and few starters played in the 2nd half. The 2nd half was a yawner with the scoring 7-6 for SLC.

SLC had at least 5 (and maybe 7) starters miss the game due to injury.

they said the field conditions and a terrible rainstorm held the passing game down and caused a few lost fumbles for DLS

Liberty was 4-1 going in

Some posters care about how SLC did last week, but I doubt there are any who care that you don't care.

no not really. Its just that you seem to almost be bragging about beating a 1-4 NOW 1-5 team. When lakeland plays George Jenkins(0-6). Why would i post the score from that game a blowout is expected. Unless it is a really close game no one cares that you beat a 1-4 team. Now if you would have only beat them by 7. Then thats something worth talking about. Oh and for the record your calpreps is not being to kind to slc this year. What happen to your SOS SLCdad. I laugh at how much faith you put into calpreps. Oh and for the record lakeland has a high SOS then you do. SLC slowing falling from the National Radar per SLCDAD's calpreps. Carroll not even in the top 25 anymore.

guys why are you hijacking the thread?

the thread is not about slc or lakeland

THX

Hijacking - hijacking a thread is defined as taking any topic over and changing the subject and debating something new. This has always been a reason for threads to be locked, deleted, or split. But if a pattern continues where one or more posters choose to continue doing this, then some form of censoring their opinions is bound to happen.

I wasn't bragging.

You are right, Calpreps isn't respecting SLC right now. However, they respect SLC more than Lakeland. Calpreps isn't respecting Miami Northwestern either (they have MNW 9th this week). The computer models are a bit goofy this time of the year because there aren't enough games played yet.

As for SOS, if SLC keeps winning, their strength of schedule will END the year near the top in the nation (that's what's happened each of the last three years).

SLC will remain in the Top 10 this week. Just watch. (I always use ALL polls whenever possible.)

Perhaps you should worry about Lakeland. They need all the help they can get.

Consumerman, I didn't mean to hijack the thread. Since you posted about DLS's game I thought I'd give a similar report about the SLC game on the same thread rather than starting a whole new thread.

Does an elite team allow 14 points to a team ranked #2595 in the Nation?

Do TD's scored in the last two mintues not count as much in CA? I am not aware of that rule.

they count as a so what socre in a 56-7 game against the second or third team defense

heritage was 4-1

So you are saying that some scores are inconsequential to the outcome of a game? Was the first touchdown relevant?

First TD was scored on the first team D. Only second one this year they have given up...point taken though.

1) what are you arguing?
2) WHY are you arguing
3) is this really important to you?
4) really????
5) I think you may have me confused with another poster who asked why SLC gave up 14 points to a team ranked 7,000. That wasn't me. Go check who said what before you put on the smartass hat again

"Perhaps you should worry about Lakeland. They need all the help they can get."

LOL. A few people arbitrarily decide to rate Lakeland lower and it's Lakeland that needs help? How stupid. Lakeland has won 51 straight games, one shy of the all-time Florida record. Of the 6 wins this year, 4 have come against teams that are currently otherwise undefeated. One was against the then-#2 team in 6A behind MNW and another was against the then-#3 team in 5A. Poor ole Lakeland needs help, sure.

Just trying to clarify why you felt it necessary to point out that "one TD was scored with less than 2 minutes left in the game". I ask the same question to you, and your point is???????????????????????????/

So you are saying that some scores are inconsequential to the outcome of a game? Was the first touchdown relevant?

Not really, this is a message board discussing HS football. Important? Not really. Fun? At times.

really?

Hope these anwers/questions satisfy you.

I think the real question should be, is a given team good enough that you'd really walk up to Herbstreit himself and say that team ought to be invited to the Herbie next year? The followup question to that is whether or not it's a team that you wouldn't say that team shouldn't have been invited to the Herbie in the first place if they happened to lose.

If the answer to both of those questions is yes, then it's probably worth talking about a win over that team.
