Has anyone heard what Jameson did in wrestling?

Jameson loses on a default with the score tied 1-1 and 30 seconds left in the 3rd period...it sounded like an injured shoulder/arm

That sucks to end the season like that but still a great performance overrall. He is the first wrestler Coach Mccoy has gotten to coach in the finals of the state tournamnet I think, which covers 20+ years. Congrats...

He hurt his elbow. There is a picture of him in pain in the Enquier.

Congratulations on an awesome year. Sean will rank somewhere in the top 5 at Elder for wins in a season all-time. Does anyone know if Sean will pursue football or wrestling in college ?? Any schools showing interest ??

Wow...is that right? If so, that is very surprising to me. Congrats to all involved.

EP, Coach McCoy has coached since the 83-84 season, after Dave Dabbelt stepped down. The season before, 82-83, Steve Klumb placed second in a controversial match. Klumb was called for a delay and lost the match 2-1 ???
McCoy was an assistant that year under Dabbelt.

Since then, McCoy has lead Elder wrestlers to several placements at the State tournament.

2nd - 1 time
3rd - 1 time
4th - 1 time
5th - 4 times
6th - 6 times
8th - 2 times

Thanks EQ83. Was Dave Schuler the first and only Panther wrestler to win an individual state title?

Yes. 1973 at 155 lbs. It has been a long 30+ years.

I think he was the first GCL wrestler to win an individual title as well...correct?

Brasco & Equipmentman, You are wrong, Coach McCoy came to Elder as the Head Coach in 82-83 and DAbbelt was the Asst. to him. He did coach Klumb to the runner up finish in the state that year. In Klumb's match he lost in Overtime to the kid from St. Ed's on a horrible call from a Cleveland official who homered Klumb. Steve should have been the State Champ. Just a correction on the above comments. I feel sooo bad for Jameson, that is not the way to end a Great career. He did not get to end it on his terms.

I don't know if it's a done deal, but I believe he is going to be an Iowa Hawkeye...He will persue wrestling.
