The former House speaker resigned under a cloud of dishonor and disgrace, but now the dead man talking walks among us again.

At this point in the recession, you've probably become familiar with the term "zombie bank," a financial institution that can continue operating, thanks to government support, even though its debts outweigh its assets. Now it's time to add a related descriptor to our public discourse: "zombie politician." The term describes a political figure whose electoral worth is less than zero and whose ideas are totally bankrupt, but who can continue to offer up political guidance because he's kept on life-support by media-generated oxygen.
Gingrich's political career flat-lined a decade ago when he resigned as speaker of the House under a cloud of dishonor, disgrace and corruption. Yet the dead man again walks among us. Flip on a cable news show, a Sunday talkfest or C-SPAN, or crack open the national section of a major newspaper, and Gingrich is seemingly everywhere, positioned as no less than the leading opposition figure to President Obama.

It's laughable how Newt is trying so badly to reinvent himself, LoL. The Republican Party is on life-support, if Newt is going to lead them back to White House. Maybe, Bob Dole will make another run, too.

46% approval rating for Obama. I suggest the dems start pricing oxygen masks.

Newt is a dead man walking, sounds like the Republicans are using the same oxygen mask, trying to pump some life back into a beached whale.

Wow, a biased op-ed piece in the LA Times, whoda thunk? What's next, a NY Times article critical of the smell of Obies bowel movements as they try to get a deeper understanding of him?
Newt's smarter than the Dem triumvirate (Obama, Pelosi, Reid) combined. Newt's dog is smarter than the triumvirate.... heck there's a dead fly in the White House that could lead our government better than those three.

The facts speak for themselves. LoL, You have no other choice, but to try to dismiss the LA Times as being bias. Because, that's much easier than dismissing all the facts in this piece.

What's very easy to do is this..
Dismiss any words that come after your name in a post.

Despite being "he all you got left", I think we'll manage against Obie. Even Palin will beat his sorry --- back to the slums of Chicago if he's stays on his present course. Have some MD 20/20 and go try again with a new thread!

You are really aiming high this time, you said that about McCain, too. At least McCain was a honorable war hero, what is Newt going to run on, "It's time to put a ------bag Dictator back in the White House, someone that knows when to cut a sick wife loose." Gingrich/Palin '12

You put lots of stock in the opinion of a left-wing hack op-ed writer.
Mopboy, in case you haven't noticed, the amount of power Obama and the Congressional Funky Bunch have accumulated is FAR beyond anything that happened in the Bush administrations.
But of course you haven't noticed.

Democrats are the Party of bad ideas and the Republicans are the Party of no ideas, in case you have not notice. Gingrich already failed, like almost every Politicians has at one time in their life. But, you people (Political Party Blowhearts, like yourself.) have very few options in finding fresh new candidates to replace those that already failed us once, that's why folks were willing to roll the dice with Obama to begin with. American Politicians are like crabs in barrel, they get to reinvent their old ideas and repackage them every 10 years. Because, most Americans have short term memories and suffer from ADD. Gingrich isn't the answer to nothing the Republicans haven't already tried and failed with.
