Representing at UC...We are proud of you!!!:)

Congratulations Lance for leading the Big East in hitting and putting a ball on top of the Fifth Third building at UC Field. After watching Lance in the cage for the past 10 years I new it would happen and it has. When you watch Lance hit a ball in the cage it sounds different from most players.

He hangs with my two sons, great young man. I wish him all the luck in the world.

I was at the UC-Xavier game when he hit it onto Fifth/Third Arena. I have never seen a baseball hit that far in my life. My daughter is a freshman at UC and she said the baseball coach is getting the engineering department to calculate how far ball actually travelled because he has been asked that question so much.

Quite an accomplishment and a great season for Durham. As far as the home run on top of Fifth Third - I think it is amazing how many HR's you see while down at the UC games that hit 3/4 of the way up Fifth Third. Only one has gone on top during a game but many are hitting the upper half of the building and more than a handful pu tit on top during BP. The power these kids generate along with the pop in the bats is amazing.

As for next stop Big Leagues I think we may give him a chance in the minor leagues first as I don't think Lance will go directly from UC to a major league roster but I could be wrong. :)

True, nice feat, outstanding young man, good family, but allot has to happen for him to make a big league roster. Let's hope he does.

IMHO: Not many kids make it to the Big leagues but I do think Lance has the ability to hit at that level. He truly crushes the baseball when using wood. His father has him use wood year round and now that he may get a good draft pick he will be working even harder. Lance's body has gone from a boy to a man the last few years. You are right tho, kids are hitting the crap out of the ball. The neat thing is only 5 people ever hit the ball into the Upper Decks at the old Vet. in Philadelphia. Bull Durham was one of the five. I think Lance will have Bull's power and may follow in his father's foot steps. We are just hoping he gets drafted high....

I would agree he definitely has hitting in his bloodline. "Bull" was fun to watch hit a baseball. I wish nothing but the best for Lance and hope he gets drafted high so he can realize his dream.

Being from Cincy I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Bearcat uniform next season again as I really don't know where thier hitting is going to come from after losing Spina, Satterwhite, Riddell and possibly Lance. Never a bad idea to get that degree for a fall back situation in case baseball doesn' twork out.
