SEEDS

1. Tallmadge (16-3 9-0 in suburban)
2. Walsh (18-3 3-2 in league)
3. Field (14-6 8-2 in PTC)
4. Aurora

11 teams are in this district. I saw the bracket for a minute or 2 so here is what I have.

Tallmadge and Field are on same side of bracket. Walsh and Aurora are on the other side. I do know that monday ST. V plays North and that winner will play Field.

One win is needed by all 4 seeds to advance to play at Canal Park.

the other teams in the district are as follows. (in no order)
Streetsboro
Hoban
Copley
East
Buchtel

Sorry bout the rest of the bracket to old to remember it all.

I can't get the bracket online. Records of Tallmadge and Walsh? I kinda thought Walsh would be one.

When is the district final?

I want to see the Tallmadge/Walsh matchup if they play in the final. Would be a heck of the game.

The coaches voted and Tallmadge received the one seed. You would think Walsh would get the 1 seed but there was tallmadge's schedule that was mentioned. Walsh I think does have the better record but the coaches voted tallmadge as the 1.

Hoban wins 4-1 against Aurora

This leaves Field vs. Tallmadge on one side and Hoban vs. Walsh on the other should be two solid matchups at Canal Park on Monday night... Does anyone else think this is the hardest district in DII baseball?

As I said months ago, Umbright and Skulina will not match up again unless Field thinks they can beat Tallmadge with Boggs. Don't think Walsh will have to throw Skulina to beat Hoban who lost to Tallmadge 18-2. My guess is that the big righthander goes in the district final. Either way, once again, the most difficult district in the state will eliminate each other and much weaker teams from the area will get to the regionals. Who's it going to be for Tallmadge? Keen then Linder?

Monday will probably be Kilway.

If Tallmadge wins, then you have Cochran, Linder and Keen for tuesday.

Who are some big names that Field has beat?

falcondad28
05-13-09, 05:51 PM
Well I am not going to compare schedules because there is no comparison....it is what it is...overall we have a weaker schedule than most and we play Kent at the end so I won't say anything that we are not...but we have a stud and legit number 2....and some heavy hitters 1-9 balls can go out of the park at anytime....don't get me wrong, don't misunderstand........ we aren't world beaters and lost some games we shouldn't have....but these kids are coming together at the right time. We are looking at one game at a time. Everyone has Tallmadge favored and we are fine with that.......................................... When it is done they will know that have been in a game.

GRPride86

Didn't want to compare schedules, just asked what big teams they have beaten. Believe me, Tallmadge knows that Umbright will pitch and they also know that Field chose to play Tallmadge instead of Walsh first, kindof taking it personal, so the Blue Devils will be ready on Monday.

Does anyone have the Walsh-Hoban score?

Caju
05-18-09, 11:26 PM
I believe it was 7-0, Skulina pitched well and threw a no hitter. Hoban looked out of sinc on both sides of the ball. The game could have been closer but Hoban had one of those games you hope doesn't happen in the tourney..

6 for students 8 for adults i think...

6.00 Adults
4.00 Students :)

If the Walsh/Hoban game had been on a high school field it would have been over in the fifth. The triples by Walsh would have all been HR's and several of the outs that were caught would have been out as well.

Wow. I was hoping for a Tallmadge/Walsh rematch. I think they may have been looking ahead to the finals...

ya it was one fun game to play in and does any one know who walsh will throw tonight i heard there number 2 is just as good as there number 1

BgStck45
05-19-09, 02:17 PM
Skulina is as good as it gets. Walsh's number two is decent but not as good as Tyler. I wouldn't expect a 97 MPH fastball tonight.

GRPride86
05-19-09, 02:18 PM
He's name is "the winner"

theface18
05-19-09, 02:19 PM
how fast does he throw

GRPride86
05-19-09, 02:22 PM
You're not asking the right questions. The right question is "how good is your number 2?"

Can Walsh hit your number 2. The answer is probably yes.

theface18
05-19-09, 02:25 PM
well i asking about there pitcher? not if they would hit ours. were throwing boggs . throws mid 80 s pretty good curve. going to mercyhurst to play college ball

GRPride86
05-19-09, 02:42 PM
So is our number 2, Joe Cochran

To answer your question:

It's Walsh, of course their number 2 is going to be good. He's going to have mid to high 80's FB and at least two more off speed pitches.

Never Skulina is the top pitcher in Ohio and is only a junior after his senior year he should be a top 5 pick in the MLB draft

DevilsAdvocate

I'll take money on that top five pick...good but not a top five.

Great Season for Field, but Walsh was just to good.

kent16
05-20-09, 06:49 PM
How much money? A junior throwing 96 already he will be up by 100 next year

flashingtheleather21
05-20-09, 11:21 PM
the number two for Walsh is greg greve. another junior... topped out at 91, and he's their number two..
