Should be a great District tournament! Couple of interesting games. Both semis should be extremely good if they plan how I see them going.

Also being a Hoover fan I love their draw.

Good luck to all the teams should b a lot of fun!

That is very true hoover is lucky to not play perry or jackson until the finals but what's the word on green this year they have a great record but I haven't really heard much about them

Green beat Perry and Messer 2-1 in the first game of the season, only giving up 2 hits. However, Perry not being able to hit a team doesn't make them good. However, I think their only loss was to Wadsworth.

I wouldn't get too cocky now if I was a glenoak player or fan as hoover pitched mediocre pitchers at best while they got to see one of your bests in monnot all in all though it should be one heckuva game friday

 why is that the glenoak baseball team has basically been ignored.
they are in the hunt for the federal league title but nothing has been said about them or god forbid the repository write about anybody but hoover and jackson.

they've turned it on big time this season with nate starek, evan knott. t.j. sutton, Joe monnot, and tommy monnot. i think they deserve a little more
credit.

as for you viking baseball yeah monnot pitched the first game, but the second game glenoak pitched leopold who has only thrown 3 games this entire season so don't bring out the excuses. not only could they not hit monnot but they could'nt hit leopold either.

Here's some credit: Glen Oak almost always seems to do well in the tourney, or at least when I've kept track...

Just passed by the diamond over at Jackson. The Bears were batting in the bottom of the fourth with a 14-1 lead over the Generals. Barring a minor miracle, I'd say it was Green/GlenOak and Perry/Jackson in the district semis, since the former three all won last night.

hey viking fans i guess it's time for the glenoak players and fans to be a little cocky cause they just opened a can of whoop --- on hoover 3 straight times this week alone. oh yeah by the way who's the ace pitcher? they all look mediocre to me. was that your hometown all star team or was it the williamsport team? All is quiet:stirthepot: over there in north canton!!!!!

I was referring to the playoffs and your next opponent. Orange and black can sometimes have teeth.

Eagle9908, you only hope the Bears are next. They still have to beat Perry and Messer. Something the Eagles weren't able to do. Again, that's why they play the games.....Oh, and you still have to get by the Bulldogs!!!

I would imagine he was talking about the regular season games. Jackson & GO play twice this week in regular season games.

Thanks Purple, not sure who was playing who in the FED this week. Just curious. I know some of the bigger schools in the FEB have a pretty deep pitching staff. But if it comes down to it what is at the top of the Bears list....Districts or Federal League. You can't pick both ;)

This week is always a twisty road....Your playing for you state life and some of your big rivals.....Glad Im not the coach.

I'd say focus on the first GlenOak game and get the win (hopefully). That way, it'd render the second GO game a moot point, as we'd finish no worse than tied for first in the Fed race. Then you can focus on the two district games on Thursday & Friday.

That's the worst part about the baseball schedule around here; the overlap of tourney games and regular season schedule.

yeah, its a big decision for both glenoak and jackson. do you want to win the federal league or save your best pitching for the tournament. who's idea was it to have league and tournament games overlapping.... and yeah i was talking about this weeks games between glenoak and jackson.........:rainbow:

Green hasn't been playing very good ball lately. They were hammered by Tallmadge and have two starters out and possibly a third one also. I look for GlenOak to cruise in this one. Will Messer pitch against Jackson and have they beat him?

perry 7
jackson 3

messer with a complete game and had a no hitter going for a while.

Perry--7
Jackson--3

Starting pitchers were, Perry--Messer Jackson--Rabbit

Messer went the distance for Perry.

Unbelieveable. We seemed to the best team in the county, yet couldn't even make the district finals. ARGH. What is it this year w/Jackson athletics and underachieving? Very frustrating.

Anyhow....good luck to Perry against the GlenOak/Green winner. You guys obviously deserve it and I wish Gamble's crew well.

Best game that I saw Perry play this year...much more aggressive with their approach to hitting...Jackson appeared flat

Perry jumped on Jackson early and often...Messer pitched a solid game...

Too much time to wait for second game...

Good luck and GO PERRY...

10-0 Green! Is Green really that good? I just read this article on how GO was back!! What happened? Heard they benched their catcher. What did he do now? Dont they have one more game with Jackson? Does anyone know when and where that game is being played?

MPkidPD

I left when it was 6-0. I can only say that it did not look like the G.O. team that I have seen play. Didn't look ready to play from first pitch. T.J. struggled with control and the "D" had about errors....again, that's why they play the games.

Jackson beat GlenOak Friday night 1-0 to clinch the outright Federal League championship. The only run scored on a Sean Paul homerun.

They finished the season #9 in the coaches poll. Green was #13.

BTW, I'm going to unstick this, as the districts are now over. Perhaps one of our Green fans can make a regionals thread.
