Damn, the one & only home game I missed this year and it was a good one.

Imagine that!

Nice bounce back from the last 3 games & a little payback from the 11-1 loss earlier.

I was able to listen to the game on Radio 1570 AM with Frosty and Sonny . They do a great job with play by play . There was more errors in that game then you can imagine . Yes it was windy but were talking about fielding ground balls , not balls to the OF . Dayton Daily Box Score said 9 errors total . According to the Radio there were I believe more errors then runs scored . Had to be a real ugly game to watch .

Jackets rally for 9-8 win over Troy - Sidney Daily News

Sidney rallied back from an 8-4 deficit to pull out a 9-8 thriller over Troy in Greater Western Ohio Conference North baseball action Wednesday.

The game was played at Custenborder Field instead of the high school because of field conditions, and the win put the Jackets at 5-2 in the GWOC and 10-5 overall.

It also atoned for an 11-1 run-rule loss to the Trojans earlier in the season.

"It puts us right back in it," said Sidney coach Mitch Hoying of the GWOC race. "We went from looking not very good in our last few games to being very competitive."

It was a battle right from the start. A walk, an error and a hit batter preceded a grand slam by Troy's Langdon for a 4-0 Trojan lead after the first four batters of the game.

Zach McKibben settled down after that, and Sidney was able to come back and pull even with two runs in the first and two in the third.

In the first, Colin Beer reached on an error and John Lowe singled. Both moved up on a ball in the dirt, but the next two hitters struck out. Parker Jordan came through with a big hit, though, a two-run single.

Then in the third, Lowe and Justin Stewart both reached on errors, and Cory Echols plated one run with a single. Jordan's ground ball out tied the score.

However, the Trojans plated four runs in the top of the fifth, putting the Jackets down again.

In the bottom of the fifth, Sidney got one back on Brian Applegate's two-out single. It scored Echols, who doubled.

Then in the sixth, the Jackets tied the game up.

Alex Lochard singled and was erased on a fielder's choice. A fly ball was the second out. But Lowe reached on an error, then Stewart plated two with a double. Echols then tied the game up with an RBI single.

Sidney kept Troy off the board in the seventh, then in the bottom of the inning, won it with textbook baseball. Jack VanHorn walked, was sacrificed to second, and scored the game-winner on Devon Rickert's single.

Lowe wound up with a single, reached on two errors and scored three times. Echols had three hits and drove in two, Jordan drove in three runs, and Rickert had two hits.

The Jackets will host Piqua today and play at Piqua on Saturday.

This is more like the sidney team i expected. I heard Sodney just looked totally out of it against butler the other night. butler has a tough one tonight against Troy and better beleive they will be playing a motivated sidney team on Monday.

It has been a similar trend all season. Sidney either wins or gets blown out. Doesn't seem to be any middle ground.
