Just wondering - because normally a couple have separated themselves by now, but it seems that things are wide open this year. Or am I "out of the loop"?

I like Sullinger for Northland. He's pretty dominant ...

CJ McCollum, has all of the tools and statistics and he had a tremendous year while playing on an undersized overachieving team.

Sullinger/Northland appears to have lots of support across the state. I think you need to also consider Bill Edwards from Middletown. The St. X game was a nightmare for him, but you can't deny his overall body-of-work for the Middies.
It will be interesting to see how voting from different areas of the state support their "favorite sons".
Also Carl Jones from Garfield Heights should be in consideration

Anyone think Orlando Williams has a chance?

let's see 1400+ career points. 29.5 ppg. lead my team in rebounding (7.0) and assists (4.0) and steals (3.0) schools all time leading scorer for career and single game (56). shot 86% from the ft line. 60+ wins as a starter. that is pretty impressive cj mccollum. can we list the statistics of another ohio player that are better than these statistics.

^^^ Josh Schuler (SW district player of the year) plays for the #1 ranked Graham Falcons. Just under 1700 career points(school career record) and still counting. Leads the team in scoring at 24.1 , steals at 3.4. Rebounding is at 5+/game and assists is 4 per/game. Shoots over 55% from the field and 84% from the line from the guard position. Has career school record for points, steals, 3 pointers made (200+), free throws made and many more. 2nd all-time is assists for the school. Also, Graham has won 50 of their last 51 games (50-1). Losing only to Toledo Libbey in the state semi-final game last year. Not saying he should be Mr. Basketball just saying these are better than above as an individual and team perspective.

Mr. Basketball I thought was the best player this season, not in a career. Season stats CJ is better than your boy falcon. Body of work is great but I think CJ is leading that race. NE Inland Palyer of the year puts him on All Ohio Team.

Danielrusso, agree. I was just answering starktops since he referred to career stats on his boy and if anybody's were better. In all honesty Mr. Basketball will come down to Sullinger (#1 team in the state) and Garrick Sherman (michigan state)of Kenton. Sullinger will get the nod because his team is so good even though Shermans numbers are alot better.

Rob Wilson of Streetsboro- 23.4 ppg, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, 4 blocked shots per game. Brought home a district title to a school that has never seen one. How many people ever heard of Streetsboro basketball before Wilson stepped into the picture. Player has changed the entire program, kids are coming out for basketball now. 7th, 8th, 9th and varsity teams all won their league. Just under 1700 career points, 945 rebounds, 40% from 3pt line, and sorry not sure of the other stats. I am sure they are pretty good. Definitely a consideration as an underdog.
Although the ppg is lower than the rest, several members of his team are double digit averaging, as a strong team player that says alot.

First the players of the year has to be determined in each division. D1 will be Sullinger. D2 will be Sherman D3 not sure D4 will be Hecker from worthington Christain. Mr. Basketball will then be chosen from one of these 4. Thats how its done I believe. From the above Sullinger wins it hands down because of what he means for his team, which is ranked #1 in the state.
I believe there is a couple of players that deserve this honor but none more than CJ McCollum

Does it hurt him that glenoak is done while some of the other canidates are still leading their teams to states?

I think Hecker repeats in D IV again too -- not as great a year on paper as last year's state runner-up at Worthington Christian, but this year was without the Joseph brothers -- one lost to graduation and one to Olentangy Orange
