View Full Version : Perry To Start Athletic Hall of Fame

Nominations are being accepted for the first years class of enshrinees. You can fill out a nomination form online at the Perry Local School's web site (in hot topics) or pick up a form at the athletic office. All forms must be completed and returned to the athletic office by November 21st, 2008. The first class will be announced sometime in late December/early January and will be inducted at a dinner to be held in February and also introduced at a home basketball game a day later. Perry round ball fans, I'm sure you have some players in mind, so fill out a form and get it in. You can also nominate former greats from any sport, women's or men's. There are certain criteria nominees must meet, but that is explained on the form. I wanted to post this on some different forums here at Yappi, because I felt that many don't go to the general forum.

We started an Athletic HOF at Sebring a few years ago. It was a lot of work, but well worth the time. We now do a dinner and a lottery as fund-raisers. We do not have any admininstrators on the committee, just long-time Sebring people from different eras, each with a knowledge of a different sport.

Do me a favor and make sure that those inducted are worthy and are not just getting in because they are friends with members of the selection commitee.

frecriss, I don't see "friendly voting" entering into the picture at all. Knowing the make up of the committee I would bet my mortgage on everything being fair and balanced. I'm sure there will be those that will have some complaints about those that are selected, but the thing is all the ones worthy will get in. It will be a matter of time.
