With the Season coming up i was wondering where a couple of the city players from recent years ended up


Ramel Mitchell-SOUTH SUBURBAN C.C

Melvin Haynes-?

Devaghn Boddie- Lorain Community College

Eric Howell is at Mount Union with Robert Johnson. He transferred from Tri-C, where he played last year.

Pope is also at South Sub JC with Mitchell.

Golden, the think the streets got him. I hope not but I think so.

But for sure the one that played at Firestone this past year. Ramel is there not for grades but to hope that after one year he can get a better offer. I guess he did not have much coming out of the stone. (rumors of KSU were not true) Ant Logan from North is at Musky playing both football and basketball.

I would doubt it. With all due respect to them, there haven't been many players from the City recently that could play at Toldeo or OSU. Only Rydell and Tiondre come to mind as even having a shot at playing at a MAC school.

to play at Akron and they never offered him. No other MAC school was offering. So I would say that Brooks was not at MAC level and TJ is not going to cut it grade wise. There is no way he can flunk out 3 years and have enough credits. He is a MAC athlete but not a MAC player. Its just to physical for him and he does not play hard enough for that level.

:confused: What are you talking about....Rydell went to Niagara played a year and transfered to UA. He got in trouble with the law and got kicked out of school......

was not true. If they were, why would he NOT sign there? So he can go to JC? They looked at him, but thats it. Heck, no other MAC or D1 offered. In fact, no D2 offered. If they did, why would he not take it? Hey, I love the kid and want to see him at Kent or any school. He is first class. But the facts are what they are. Nobody is turning down a free education for JC. Being player of the year in Akron or Summit will not get you a schollie these days.

As for Rydell, Akron did not have any scholarships to offer for that year of the next 2 years. They have their commitments. He was a walk on and thats why the paper said after his arrest, he was removed from the team and not "scholarship revoked." Plus Akron would have lost his scholarship for the year and count against them. So the bottom line is, he would not have a scholarship for 2 years, or unless a player left and one openned.

I noticed that Cameron Joyce is on Kent's roster this year. Do you know if he is on scolarship or a walk-on? I thought that Ramel was better than Cameron.

Uh....care to tell me what you are talking about? He didn't take the offer from UA his senior year and went to Niagara. When he came back no there weren't any schollies but he was still on the team....so how the heck was he not "at MAC level"?
