Who are some of the top 8th grade players this year in SW Ohio? (School or AAU)

From what I saw last year Walnut Hills 7th grade team which will be 8th graders this year was the best 7th grade team I have ever seen. Great size extreamly athletic with great guard play even though the guards were small. Not sure that they all stayed at Walnut Hills, but if they did and they keep progressing they will be worth watching in the next several years.

^^^ I agree - saw them play a few times last year and they have some very athletic and skilled players. Madiera has a point guard who I have seen a few times who can shoot the lights out - don't know his name.

Three names that pop out in my mind and are sure to be playing at the Row soon are Austin Grimes, Trent Donald, Devin Williams. These kids are easily three of the best if not the best 8th graders in the state of Ohio. You heard it here first.:thumb:

The Madiera player you are talking about is probably Benatendii (sp). Great shooter also one whale of a baseball player for the Ohio Heat who went 62-8 this year and came in Second in the Cal Ripkin Tournament in Myrtel Beach SC this summer.

Mark Ferguson
Austin Grimes
Khari (?) Burton
Isaiah Johnson

These guys seem pretty good, but it's a long way from the 8th grade to the NBA. Bodies change, priorities change, opportunities come and go-so my advice is stay in the books.

Oh yeah Stedman Lowry is the best player in southwestern ohio-his dad told me so

I just hope this forum does not turn into the circus that was on the all-ohio message board. It was a bunch of parents with kids this age that were crazy!

VOR I agree. My boy goes to GE and we were dominated then handeled by Walnut Hills last year. Best Jr. High team I've seen in years. I have no ties to WH what so ever unless you count when I officiate their Varsity team. Cincinnati basketball is in very good shape for the forseeable future. Lots of talent running around at all levels. Looking forward to the start of the season.

How tall is Wingfield Jr? That kid obviously comes from a eye popping talented 6'9 father.

let's hope he has gotten his genes about academics from his mother.

How are you guys not mentioning the best Kindergartener? Anyone see the outside the lines on this kid? Wow in two senses of the word:
1--Kid could dribble
2--Dad had a Youtube on him for recruitment...did I mention the age of the kid?

My daughter was holding a ball at about two weeks old. I held such high hopes that she would be a WNBAer, but things didn't work out:( She could even dunk a ball in the toilet at 10 months!!! She was a monster hoopster.
