You mean Barry Cobb? I believe he's still at North College Hill.

Why? Is he not there?

As a matter of fact, Barry Cobb isn't at NCH anymore.

I wonder where he went. I'll let you all know something soon.

Wow, that's a major plus for Shroder.

Wonder if that makes Shroder better than last year. My guess is yes.

I thought Shroder lost a whole bunch of seniors from last year's Cinderella team

They did. But they have a pretty good youngsters. And now with Cobb, that should put them top in Cincy for D3. Probably.

Nobody ever submitted a roster for Shroder from last season. :wallbang:

Anyone happen to have it? (Heights & Grade Levels included)

It sure would be easier to talk about them if we had it.

Below are a few players from last season and the two sophomores played Fresh, JR, JV and V.

Sophomore - Jalen Billups- 6'5
Sophomore - Isaiah McCullar - 6'7
Senior - Landon Williams -6'0
Senior - Antwon Tollivar -5'10

Tolliver and Williams are juniors...add Cobb and this becomes very interesting.

Yeah, every one of those players are, or are going to be pretty darn good.

I can't wait for the Lockland/Shroder game. :D

Who do you think the xfactors of this young team are?

The x-factor, IMO, will be Billups. Simply because I think McCullar is better. McCullar will get his stats, but I think Billups will have to work harder at it. Billups will be just fine.

It will be interesting to see how well Landon Williams will be this year.

Not to make this thread about Billups and McCullar, but I see McCullar having to work harder for his numbers this year, Eezy.

McCullar scores on just put-backs, while Billups has the ball handling and mid-range (along with the athleticism that they both possess) to have much more of an effect.

Defensively, though, McCullar will have to work alot less hard because of his size compared to Billups'.

Simply put, anyone who thinks McCullar is the better of the two obviously hasn't seen either of the two play lately

Exactly. I don't know much about them as of right now.

Billups is better, and he plays way more consistent.

Tolliver and Cobb together will be a great pair. If those sophmore post players play to their potential, Shroeder could be good.

It took a little time to find out what Shroder will look like with the addition of Barry Cobb. They will be very deep at PG. They have three PGs that have the skills to break you down on the perimeter, dish, finish at the basket, and shoot the 3. The coaches there are not saying much, but it is my understanding they have a lot more.

the three guard line up can give teams probs. if you play them right

I think this Thread should be changed to Schroeder, and I think the success of the team will have to be more than just Barry Cobb. I look forward to seeing Billups. He could be one of the better small forwards in the city by the time he is a senior.

Why does everybody misspell it?

Because someone bought WAY too many vowels from Vanna, and forgot to call out any consonents!!!

Seriously... can someone explain the word PAIDEIA?

Is it someone's name?
Does it have some religious significance?

Also "Shroder" typically is spelled with a "c" (Schroder)... and sometimes with an additional "e" as well (Schroeder). As someone with a German ancestory, I don't believe I'd ever seen Shroder spelled this way before I came across the name of this school.

I went to school's website and found Paideia is a greek term dirived from the writings of Mortimer Adler. The word translates as referring to the positive and mature development of the total person: intellectually, emotionally, and, physically. It is the philosophy and focus of the instructional program.

The Boomarang tossed it out there. Some intellectual will find the origin of the school name, sorry I could not help on that one.

VERY INTERESTING. I appreciate you digging that up, b-rang. I had a feeling there was special significance for that word. Now I can google Mortimer Adler and REALLY expand my horizons!!

Very interesting, indeed. Thanks again. :)

Is everyone else as tired as I am of trying to track these gypsy players across the city... the state... the country???? :wallbang:

I can understand that under certain circumstances, a kid moves to a second school. However... 3 or more schools tells me there's a big red flag waving that concerns the behavior/values of the player and/or his parents. :Ohno: :dang:

I thought that school in Memphis rejected him? Todd Mayo's high school, right? How in the world is he "cool" with Todd anyway?

Hoop', I believe you're right about the red flags about him, not his parent(s). But that's all I'm going to say.

Word of mouth is that he didn't get along with some of the Shroder teammates.

Barry wasn't at school long enough to establish a relationship with any of the players. So, the reason for leaving is a mystery:shrug:
