OK, dream time, gang.

What are some wants and needs for a new stadium for football? Given it's going to share time with soccer and who knows what else, what are the things you'd like to see?

Me, I'd start with Browns stadium and work my way down from there...but what are your dreams (with a healthy dose of reality tossed in for good measure)?

Personally, I like the grass field and the score board and I also like the location. We need better stands and a new pressbox and I think it should be set-up more like Pat Catan Stadium in Strongsville in stead of looking like a much bigger Franklin Field (JV, Freshmen, Middle School, Hawks field)

If it's a given the stadium cannot be moved (actually I kind of like the current location too, strangely enough), no reason it can't be renovated. As I've mentioned on the Jackson thread, some seriously enhanced visitors' side stands (made to have a more permanent look and feel), maybe some permanent endzone seating at either or both ends of the field, a new press box, etc..you'd be surprised the potential the current site has.

I like the current location also. The stands, press box and field house could all be upgraded without touching the field IMO. The scoreboard is ok, but that could be upgraded too. The downside is the sharing of the field does cause wear and tear that would be eliminated with field turf. I still prefer the real thing.

The site does have some limitations. With the track where it is, there's only so much endzone seating that could go in. I guess what I'm suggesting isn't so much quantity but quality. Solon, for example, manages to make everything look good and fit together well.

Leave Lavelli the way it is and give it to Soccer.
Also refinish the Lavelli track so they can use it for track and field.

As for the new "Football" stadium.

Build it next to the baseball stadium like they have planned. The plans I have seen were based loosely on Ravenna's stadium. Turf it make it for

Football, Field Hockey and Band in the fall.

In the Spring it can be used for Lax guys and girls.

Don't install a track we don't need it, its a waste of money. Lets make a true football stadium so we can host playoff games.

Rosenthal: they've got another all-weather track right next to the high school. I agree that a new track is not a necessity.

Navy Blue turf with silver lines. The crazy thing is thats not one of my dreams, it actually came from the mouth of one of the school board memebers

oldline you're right, they did just refinish the tracks on lavelli and the field next to the high school. The field next to the highschool is used for the home track meets, but it lacks stands (there are literally none).

And I strongly think the stadium needs to be moved. It is insane that the team's practice field is used as a parking lot. The field already is 50% dirt instead of grass, and its only been 3 games. I bet this is a main cause for the teams injuries

Who could contribute the big money?
