I've heard the rumblings for a couple months. I kinda blew them off as jealous fans. Now the rumblings are starting to get louder.

Are the Porini's living in Canton or do they still live in Massillon? Depends on who you talk to.

Parents upset with the school/coaches??

What's going on??

I haven't heard jack out of either Timken OR McKinley virtually since the end of the school year. Makes me wonder if CCS will be fielding basketball teams this year.

It's being said that the Porrinis are living in Massillon and they need to be living in Canton. So I'm told.

Just a lot of rumblings coming from Timken this summer.

In addition to the Porinni's situation heard a rumor about Clark and his dad not being employed at Timken anymore which may impact his son being able to play at Timken. Is that true or not?

That's absolutely "locked-in", y/b?

Your information was always right-on-the-money last season!! :) :thumb:

Porrini's didn't like following the rules at Massillon and at Hoover....so they'll give Timken a try.

Is his dad no longer at Timken?

I am not sure how he is going to stay at Timken if his dad is no longer employed there and he lives outside the district.

I'm not sure if Clarks father will be coaching at Timken or not. Something tells me someone within the CCS syatem is watching Timken very closely. No proof, Just a hunch.

What's going on at Timken? Two straight 20-0 seasons! Get real people, Timken was never an academic haven. North Canton is the direction to look for getting players for non-academic reasons. Followed by their orange and black counterparts to the east. Let Timken enjoy their run. They are fun to watch and it's to hear positives coming from over there.

Who are you referring to that's East of Canton and is orange and black?

Everything should be fine with Timken as long as these young men continue to take care of business in the class room and outside away from Timken when school starts they all should be fine. I look forward to another 20+ win season maybe not undefeated but close to it.

Well you tell me. Why does it seem like there's a problem with Clarks father all of a sudden and the Porrini's got to figure out where there address really is. Don't think somebody within the CCS systen isn't paying attention.

I don't about Clark's father or about address's. Maybe all the others know what you are referring to. Any clarification whould help me understand the situation better.

The Trojans will only lose to Columbus Northland. Another great yr. for them. I see them going farther this year than last year. Im predicting a final four if everyone who is supposed to b there is there and elgible.

The original topic was "What is going on at Timken?".

The answer is probably something along these lines, they had a busy summer and will get busy again in the fall. After all they are continuing to work toward being one of the better teams in the state.

All of the conjecture is just that conjecture!

IF they are ineligible, the coaches and administration should be ashamed of themselves. Most if not all of these boys will only play some college baseketball at most..never the NBA. Then what? Where are they going to feed their families? Get an education boys and trsut me....good educational and good basketball schools will come calling. The days of giving $$$$$ to dumb athletes is over guys.

While I agree that college programs are requiring more of their athletes in terms of academics, I don't think it's fair to label these guys as "dumb". They may or may not be performing well in the classroom (I don't know), but lack of success in the classroom doesn't typically equate with being "dumb."

Stop fretting. Clark's dad was laid off from Timken. They are paying tuition so he can stay there. Also, the union has filed a grievence on dad's behalf.

My, how rumors start!

The Porrini's live in Canton with their mom. They were living in North Canton wih their step-dad to-be and mom. They are no longer together and moved to Canton. The boys visit their grandparents in Massillon and stay over ocassionally. I guess, because they are seen in Massillon once in a while, they live there?

Well my original source of this rumor was from some Timken parents, NOT this site. Maybe people from within should stop talking about these potential issues so that word doesn't get out.

It's called winning with other teams players that leave or get kicked out of other schools. If Timken used original Timken kids they would stink like they always have.

I would have to disagree if Clarke,Reed,Rorie,Howard,Gooden,Cox,Marshall,Crosb y,Johnson would still be a very good team.

I assume that this a list of kids that started school at Timken from day one?

If so I agree they would be very formidable.

Howard transferred from the Columbus area his sophomore year

Howards originally from the stark area and moved to Columbus then came back. He never played in Columbus his three years of basketball is going to be with the Trojans.

Gotcha. I just remember reading in The Repository 3 years ago that he transferred from Columbus.

Howard makes a difference in the PAC but seemed to struggle against bigger kids last year. The difference maker for Timken is Clarke as he is an exception player who will bust out this year and take charge now that the senior guards have gone.
In addition Moore is there best inside presence because he is so strong and creates major match up problems because of his ability to play inside-out.

Because of these two the other player fit the puzzle so well they should be dominate again this season.

futureknight25

First off Howard is the Trojans strongest inside prescence because of his ability to either block or have an effect on almost evry shot. Jehvon will have a great year as the point of a good Timken squad.

Your dead right knight Howards a shot blocking machine I think he average close to 4 a game last season. Jehvon will make his name even bigger this season along with Porrini they will make a dominate 1,2 combo.

Jared Porrinni can score at will against anyone in the county let alone the PAC (no offense). Look for him to stuff the stat sheet like he usually does.
