Just to stir up a discussion, but this might be the toughest conference in the state this year.

A few years ago a number of the non-league affiliated Catholic schools formed this conference in baseball.

St. Edward
St. Ignatius
Walsh Jesuit
Benedictine
Gilmour Academy
St. Vincent-St. Mary

Four of these teams are in the state semi-finals. St. Edward and St. Ignatius in D1. Walsh Jesuit in DII and Gilmour in DIV.

I'd never even heard of this league before now.

Actually I screwed up it's called the Cuyahoga River Conference...don't know where I got the valley at. Anyway, I would say the league has been in play 3 or 4 years now. Of course it's a baseball only league, and since there is not real widespread coveage for baseball (compared to football and basketball), it's easy to slip off the radar screen.

That would explain it. That's a very nice set of schools.

Wow. If Gilmour wins today, you'd have four different teams (from a 6-team conference!!) playing for state titles.

And two Holy Cross schools (St. Eds and Gilmour) along with those two jesuit schools.
