I am not dure what is going on with Beaver at Lakota West. Are they resting a tired arm and will he be ready for next week. If not I am not sure LW has enough pitching to win two games next week against 2 very strong teams.

Dangerous...Hits the snot out of the ball. Eds will most likely see Nate Smith(11-0) on the mound.

Firebirds are led by Jimmy Brennemen lead-off man & CF.

I am flying up to Columbus tomorrow and will be in town for a week on business. I am staying at the Mariot at the Columbus airport. Whart is the weather forecast for the week and how close to the state finals will I be? I am not flying back until next Sunday night and if it is close enough, I will go to the games. Matter of fact, if someone wants to pick me up, I will foot the bill for tickets, dinner, gas etc. Please PM me. I will have a rental but prefer not to drive in areas that I am not familiar with.

Cooper Stadium is only 8 miles away from the Airport.

Start off going North on Cassady Ave...Turn Right on Airport Dr.

Merge onto I-670 W

Merge onto OH-315 S, Exit 2A

Merge onto I-70 W toward Dayton

Get off at the Mound St. Exit 98B

Turn Left onto Mound St. (Stadium & Parking lot will be on the Right)

Woody, Yellow_Jacket's directions are fine. However, I'd be careful about wandering around too much in the neighborhood(s) directly adjacent to Cooper Stadium. When going to the stadium, just go directly to the stadium once you exit the highway and directly leave the stadium area to get on the highway when you're headed back to the hotel, especially later in the evening.

As with any big city, stick with the pack that you see headed for the game, and stick with it as you are leaving. Most people will not be stopping anywhere in between the highway and the stadium parking lot.

Do not try to be clever and use "side roads" to get anywhere around there. I once worked at a Kroger within a few miles of that location, and that general area isn't for the meek.

West is a solid team. They hit the ball well but they don't go very deep in the pitching staff. Smith's 11-0 record is impressive but he is very hittable. If Eds can get to him early and get into West's bullpen, they will have a good shot.

Can someone give me some information on Walsh? I know they are supposed to have three solid starters and a solid closer, but what else do they have?

They have to have some hitting to win their regional final game 17-0.

Solid hitting lineup from top to bottom. Have not given up a run yet in any of the tournament games. Shotstop is outstanding and the pitching is strong to 4 deep. Good luck!

Good Luck to the Wheelersburg Pirates. Home of the 1996 State Champions need to update that trophy case.

I think Kenton Ridge will need it. Just looked at Walsh's website today, and they look like the real deal.

Brenneman should still be at Lakota East. They'd be playing in Columbus this weekend if he was a little more mature :wallbang: his freshman year.

At the moment, I'd say it's not looking very good.

Sportstime Ohio has an all-important episode of Lacrosse Weekly airing while St. Edward and St. Ignatius are playing for the championship. The could not possible move that, not to mention the pre-recorded airing of the Southeast Asphalt Racing Tour airing at 2PM.

When are they showing Joe Thomas' hunting show? It's actually quite good.

Division III state championship at Cooper Stadium

Rams' 20-game winning streak comes to an end with just three hits. Hard to explain because they've been successful against a lot better pitchers during the year, but they just didn't have it today, and Taylore Baker was on. Give credit where it's due. CCC hit the ball very well before Brett McKinney came on in relief, game was basically over by that point. Crusaders definitely the better team today. Congrats on the state title. Great season by the Rams as well, and most of their top hitters and pitchers will be back next season. Already looking forward to 2009.

baker has been on all season....as a sophmore to have 2 no hitters...? i also heard that the 3rd base coach was flipping off fans and he told our coach that they could beat us 2 outta 3 times

never take your eye off the ball...escpecially if your a fan and theres a foul ball coming

What's puzzling is that they broadcasted the DI state softball championship. So, why not at least broadcast the DI state baseball championship?

I guess it's a Title IX thing. ;) :stirthepot:
