The Bears played a fine game today. They lost to St.Eds when Eds got three runs in the bottom of the sixth. It was a well played game by two fine teams. I wish Eds all the best of luck the rest of the tourney. The two sophomores they have are very special players. I want to salute all the players at Jackson on a wonderful season. You are a fine team and one of Ohio's best. Jackson is proud of you! Junior class next year is your year and you have the talent to get back here again.
I too cangratulate jackson on a great season and the Federal League Title. Truly a great team. I do hope Boardmans upcoming very talented class has something to say about Jackson getting back!

I think Boardman will have a say in the Fed. Tomato remember the districts they are in. They would not meet untill the regional next year if everything stays the same. Jackson has a lot of talent but it lacks some experience. I definitely think other teams will compete strongly in the Fed next year but trust me by seasons end the Bears will be a handful.

Alex Lavisky of St. Edward had two home runs for the eagles. Next up is Mayfield. Good Luck Eagles!

Alex is quite a hitter or at least he was yesterday. I really have no idea why Jackson pitched to him in the sixth, Eds had two hits and he had both, a homer and a solid single. He obviously had Chapman figured out unlike the other Eagles.I do want to congratulate the Eagles and good luck the rest of the tournament. I am not saying if they walk him the Bears automatically win because that is not the case. I do question pitching to him and did so in the stands before he hit the homer.

Chapman gave Jackson their best cahnce of winning. In those games you must go with your best and hope for the best. The best team just won. Is Chapman playing BB in college?

I don't think BB was suggesting that the pitcher be replaced, but that the batter should have been intentionally walked.

At this stage of the game (final 16) it's not necessarily "the best team" that wins, sometimes it's just a good team that performed a little better then the other team. I would think if Jackson and Eds played again the outcome might be different. Congrats to the Jackson on a great season.

They probably pitched to him because most of the time, a kid won't hit 2 homeruns in one game so they were going with the odds. I'm sure they pitched to him carefully - the kid just managed to get ahold of one. I doubt they gave him a meatball or pitched it down the middle.
