Is this the first time that no Ohio schools were selected for the NCAA Division I baseball tournament?

I think the amazing statistic is that the University of Miami (36 consecutive years) and Florida State (31 consecutive years) are in the field again.

UC got snubbed big time. They really deserved to go. Setting a new school record for wins with 39 and not being selected. Along with going to the Big East Championship.

I would agree with that statement. Although a "team record" season shouldn't be a consideration, the factthat they went as far as they did and went far in their conference tournament should have put them over some of the teams that received at-large bids.

I don't think UC got snubbed. They must upgrade their schedule and beat some of the good teams they add or be in the position of needing to win the conference tournament to get to the WS. Who did UC beat this season that got into the tournament? They beat Lousville in the regular season but lost the game that counted in the conference tournament and they never played St. John's.

UC played very well in 2008, Kent State played well, and Ohio state so-so.

The snubbing relates to conference affiliation and the need to RPI chase early on in the season when northern teams are still de-icing.

Until Ohio teams slay Goliath and win 40-45 regular season games, you won't sway the NCAA in your favor against their favorite sons, the SEC and ACC, aka the money-makers.

Believe me, I tried !!

The tournament snubbing of Kent State versus a UC is that the Flashes won their conference in the regular season, but lost their bid in a crapshoot tournament. That only changes if the MAC changes its criteria for the one autobid. Even though BGSU tied, they were swept easily by Kent State in 2008.
