Ursuline is good, led by Switka on the mound and a tough middle infield, but i like the bulldogs. Best overall staff in division 3 with 5 pitchers touching at least 80 and one of the most dangerous lineups led by 3rd all-time OHSAA hit leader nick jones.

I assume "Cincinnati Christian" on this list represents Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy in Symmes Township (CHCA). Their nickname is the Eagles.
Cincinnati Christian is actually the name of another high school located in Fairfield, OH. Their nickname is the Cougars. They are in Division IV and their season ended with a district final loss to Sidney Lehman Catholic, 10-6.

Yes, I just shortened it for the poll.

Yes, I just shortened it for the poll.Perhaps CHCA would be more appropriate?
If you shortened a Catholic school name to Cincinnati Archbishop we wouldn't know if it was Elder, Moeller, McNicholas, or what.

I love how every one is over looking the defending D.III state champions. As I recall last season it was supposed to be Ursaline and they may have been the 4th best team in the D.III state finals after the weekend was finished. There are two (2) 2 time state champions from the last seven seasons from the central district (Marion Pleasant and Heath). These teams have been to Columbus and their coaches know how to win once they get there. I would not over look any of these teams.

I agree with you, Cat. Obviously I'm a Badin fan, but as far as I'm concerned, Heath is the team to beat in Ohio until somebody proves otherwise.
Badinfan-have to concur with your assessment. Looks like the Ram tourney will start in the regional finals. WHo would Badin throw after McKinney? Heath and the other regionals look to be pretty good.

I won't dismiss Fenwick in the regional semis. Falcons are a formidable foe, hit the crap out of the ball and won't be intimidated by Badin. If Rams are fortunate enough to get past Fenwick, I would think they'd either throw the righty Doyle or the lefty Beatty, or perhaps more likely both. Would also depend if they need Beatty in relief of McKinney against Fenwick. I don't think Beatty has given up an earned run this year. Just can't take anything for granted at this point in the season. Two mediocre hours of baseball will send you home. Heath and CHCA very strong as well, it's a very good regional.
badinfan-can't imagine that CHCA has played anywhere near the schedule that the other 3 teams in the regional have. I know that team is well coached, but at some point that kind of catches up to you. I think the Rams will be fine this weekend. Good luck to them.
The Wheelersburg Pirates is 27-0 going into Regionals against Indian Valley, they have the pitching, hitting, and lead by 8 seniors. It is the year of the Pirates! Jordan Russell, Adam Wamsley, SS-P, Dustin Cook,OF-P lead the pitching along with Andrew Elliott who plays 2nd as well as pitches. Bryan White, on 1st, Wes Lyon on 3rd, Kyle Blevings,OF, Aaron Hopper, OF. Coached by Mike Estep, former Ohio State Player. These young men are very hungry to get to Regionals again.
Home of Rockies Pitcher Josh Newman, former Ohio State Pitcher!
Best of luck to the Pirates as they make a run to Regionals again!

CHCA's schedule? Not tough enough?
5-2 against division one teams, including wins over Turpin, Princeton, Edgewood, and tonight (Tuesday Night) a win over St. X
And what about a scrimage early on in the season against one team called the Badin Rams, where CHCA finished with 8 runs, and the rams with 1.
HEATH VS. CHCA THURSDAY AT WRIGHT STATE
HUGE GAME

And Badin vs. Fenwick will be very interesting
Both teams play in the tough GCL, and both teams can absolutely RAKE

I was wondering how long it would take the CHCA faithful to crow about the 6-1 scrimmage win on a cold, windy day when nobody cared but CHCA. Congrats on the win. Hopefully your MVC schedule has prepared you for games that matter. We'll know soon.
5-2 is very impressive, but I was talking more about the rigors of playing in the MVC. Pretty soft, even for a DIII school. I wasn't attempting to bash the Eagles either, just is what it is. Badin plays quality non-league opponents in addition to their GCL foes. In fact it could be said that their Central and North foes are the easiest games on the schedule that would include regional qualifiers Fenwick, McNick and District runner-up Chaminade.
But I agree with Badinfan, we'll all find out together.

I'm not bashing the Eagles either. I've seen them, I know they're very good. Just makes my eyes roll back in my head when I see people bragging about scrimmage wins, 7-on-7 football victories, summer league basketball triumphs ...

thats a good point, and everyone knows badin is a lot better than they showed in the scrimage
but CHCA can't do anything about the MVC, they have been trying to get out of it, and closest league game besides a one run win over CCS was 9-2. Rain didnt help also, with games against talawanda, milford, Lasalle, and ross getting rained out

Not to take anything away from CHCA's non conference wins but usually teams save their aces for league games. Once league play started, Heath did not throw their ace once in non league play. natisports, could you give me a run down on CHCA? Heath graduated some good seniors off of their championship team but the Bulldogs returned their entire infield minus their 3 bagger. In the outfield, the 'dogs return their center fielder and lead off man. Not many balls hit in his direction get by him. I'm sure that CHCA is a loaded team, they seem to be highly touted in the state poll.

CHCA is playing very well, and have their CF/leadoff, 2b, rf, and C back from last years team. DH from last year is now playing first, and left field from last year moved back to his natural position, SS.
3B is transfer from Badin, who did not get along with the Badin coach or something of the sort, I do no know the details, but he is very good, and probably will play at camblesville next year.
Should be a great game between last years state Champs and CHCA
