Springfield D2 Regional starts this Thurs. with Batavia battling Columbus DeSales @ Wittenberg Univ. DeSales is looking to advance with a bunch of senior talent. Looking for some info. on Batavia. Who have they played, league affiliation, top pitchers, players to watch, etc.? Any interest out there? Late game has Cincy McNick vs. Kenton Ridge.

For a DIII college, Wittenberg has an amazing baseball stadium.

Batavia plays in the Southern Buckeye Conference. They have now 11 straight league titles. They have a pretty good mix of kids. Ryan Beard, Kris Hecktor, JD Little, Matt Beitman, and Ryan Anstaett are some names to look for. Played a pretty tough non conference schedule which has helped them in the post season.

DeSales has good pitching (Gentile and Parise) and that should get them into at least the finals. Batavia hasn't played the competition DeSales has, that's for sure. KR and McNick should be a great game.
