Newhart had won 2 games in 2 days...came in 6th,7th, and 8th innings. Stats in the last two days are:

10 innings
2 wins
7 hits
4 BB
17 K's
3 R
97 strikes
53 balls
150 pitches

Not bad for less than 30 hours for 2 games. I didn't think Newhart could do as well as Marlington game...

The unheard hero of the game for me...is yes...the person the announcer also said...ALEX FRENCH...

I admit it. I thought he just wanted to play baseball...didn't think he could have an impact in ANY game...just thought Grove put him in because he plays on golf team also. We all know that Grove plays favorites sometimes...

Stats of the game for French:

3-5, 2 singles, double, 1 RBI's, 2 R's

But his biggest hit was when LOU pulled it to extras and Tafe struck out and French battled, and battled, and battled... finally, got a single that started a 7 run inning. He also ended up having an RBI double in the 8th inning.

Newhart has come through huge when it counted most. I don't think anyone can any longer question his talent level or heart.

I don't want to say that West Branch has found a solid #2 but Kolin Stanley stepped up big time in that spot tonight. Pitched 5 STRONG innings of shutout baseball and struggled but battled in the 6th. Newhart then came in after a 1/3 of an inning by Stoffer and struggled a little bit but got the job done because of enough run support. Another win for Newhart and another win on the Warriors road to the Regional Semi-finals.

LETS GO GREEN!!!

hey ones, didn't they go to state as Apex a few years ago...state runner-ups, right? So they've been on a huge stage before...

Stof has played with Trap's the past several years and the last two he went to Florida, playing in the USSSA World Series.

Evan and Tafe played for Apex, who were State Runners-Up in 2005. Ev and Tafe played in several huge games. Evan also played on some excellent H and G League teams. Tafe played on a good H League team.

All three have played on some pretty good teams in some pretty big games.

Woods' father played minor league baseball and is in the WB Athletic HOF.

I know they played on some good H and G league teams...had to face them a lot in the hot stove...first curveball ever thrown at me was when Campbell was pitching...couldn't beat them...especially when we would walk like every batter...lol... the good time...Tafe was on my team once in H i believe...it was either G or H...but we only went 9-9 that season and 10-10 overall (Damascus Ruritans).
