Purcell Marian 1
Canton Central Catholic 0

in the 2003 Div. II State Championship Game at OSU

Same year, same team, different game.

Sectional Finals, # 2 seeded Purcell Marian met the Norwood Indians. Great rivalry between those two schools for those that aren't aware. One of the most intense games I've ever witnessed. I remember in the 5th inning Purcell was threatening to blow it open with the bases loaded and two outs. I forget who was batting, but they sent an absolute shot to the right field gap. Norwood's CF Robbie McQueen got a great jump on it and dove all out to make the catch a few feet from the wall. I don't think I've ever gone more loco at a baseball game in my life. Unfortunately, Purcell ended up winning 7-6, but my brother who played for Norwood had a two-run double in that game, his last ever actually, so it was somewhat bittersweet.

I imagine the 11-inning marathon in the district final the PM won 3-2 was a great game as well, as was the state finals, but I wasn't present for either of those.

Great battle by both squads.

Walsh Jesuit 4, Sandusky Perkins 3 in nine innings in the regional final in 2006 at Galion Heise Park. Simone and Rodgers(on no days rest) combine for a thriller the day after rodgers shuts out defiance 2-0. That game was insanely good.

2006 Canton DII district championship
Alliance 6
Canton South 3

Alliance down 3-0 before rallying in the 5th and 6th innings topped off by a 3 run home run from Sebastian Hudacheck. The kid nearly died in the beginning of the season before an emergency apendectomy was done to save him. He came up against South great Justin Gill and took a 3-1 fastball over the fence for the lead.

This game hands down set the stage for the great games that were played the next season and the great rivalry that was followed throughout.

Two Stand Out

Both in 1997 - Hamilton vs. Vandaila Butler in the Regional Final at Wright St. Aaron Cook vs. Corey Vance, Hamilton wins in 9 innings 3-2 (I think).

State Final - Hamilton vs. Toledo Start - Hamilton scores 4 in the 7th to win the State Championship!

I'm not sure what the best game I have ever seen was, but the best game I have ever actually played in was against Mason @ Hamilton's field in the tourney 2003.

LE 1
Mason 0

Ryan Roberts (LE) threw a 1 hitter (I thought it was an error) complete game and Ryan Pflegger (sp?) (Mason) threw a no hitter. There were 2 errors for Mason and Pflegger had the bases loaded in the 7th and he walked me to walk in the only run of the game. It was a great game to play in for sure.

how about the current game that has yet to be completed between X and Elder?... 9 innings, 1-1. great game with easily the highest intensity level ive seen in a while. Will be completed next friday, followed by another x/elder matchup.
