Sidney 4

(LP: Koester)

Game 2:

Sidney 9

Wapak 6

(WP: Strome)

Game 1 was a mess. The Jackets started off good going up 3-0. The Redskins tacked on 4 runs in the 3rd Inning, and it all went down hill from there. Lack of Coaching was definitely a factor in Game 1. Many times with runners on and never even got the bunt sign once. You can't muscle & power hit your way to victories. You gotta play a little small ball when necessary. Not to mention the coaches never made a trip to the mound & Corey Koester had to pitch all 7 Innings while getting Tattooed.

On a plus note: Brad Yinger launched 2 HR's, one in which was probably close to 400 FT. It cleared a shed out back of a House that sits out beyond the Left Field fence.

Game 2 started off a little shaky as well. The Jackets went up 1-0 in the 1st Inning, but the Redskins tallied 2 runs of their own. The score would stay 2-1 until the Redskins plated 4 more to make it 6-1. Then Sidney made their climb. The 6th Inning was the break through for the Jackets as they took the lead 8-6. In the 7th the Jackets plated an insurance run to make it 9-6.

Better performance all around in the 2nd Game by Sidney. Nic Waters made some key plays at SS, along with many others that contributed.

Sidney is now 7-7 heading into Monday's GWOC North game @ Piqua.
