Sidney captured its first sectional title in over a decade with a 10-0 victory over Beavercreek. Joe Engle had a great day on the mound scattering 4 hits and striking out 4. Dean Ratliff, Spencer Rickert, Jude DeLoye and Brad Yinger all tallied multiple hit games. The Jackets played error free ball as Nic Waters made some excellent plays at short, while Spencer Rickert snared a couple of line drives and made some great picks at first base.

Only lost 2 starters, and a Closing Pitcher. It didn't help that 5 players were suspended for the first 5 games. Those guys have yet to get in sync.
It's not too late to turn things around. GWOC North play is just around the corner.

The part of the schedule that really "counts" starts Friday. I tend to look at all the other games as warmups for divison play and the tournament.

I agree...I admit I was a little spoiled by the hot start of last season. Now that Sidney has lost more games then they did in all of last season, I am no longer spoiled and realize that was a one of a kind type of season. Set the school record with 24 wins, First Sectional Championship in over 10 years.
Last years team was probably one of the best ever in Sidney Baseball history.

I see. I am sure they will be back in the groove soon.
