As ludicrous as this seems, I was looking at their remaining schedule and it is brutal. If they do not ge ta win against Mason in game 2 they play :

Princeton on Friday
Badin - a traditional neighborhood rival game - on Saturday
Princeton on Monday
Colerain on Weds and Thursday - Colerain has two very strong pitchers to throw at you in back to back games
Middletown on Friday which could come down to the battle for the basement.
Throw in a Saturday game against St X who just beat Mason twice pretty handily at Mason
Middletown on Monday and then Sycamore twice.

While I think FF is good enough to beat these teams their pitching will be tested as they have 5 or 6 tough games in a row against pretty good teams in a week.

X-why you banging on the Indians so hard? The GMC is difficult for all involved. I still think they will turn it around but I do find it rather strange that the parent posse has been rather silent since the first HHS game. The non-conference games they have scheduled are no gimmes after the Turpin game. Miamisburg is kind of down so they should get a "W" today.

I am not on them at all. After looking at their schedule in the upcoming week I think it is a real question. They will play Princeton twice ( great offense and giving up less runs than projected in league games), Colerain twice ( two ace pitchers to throw at you in league games),and throw in St X and Badin ( rival game) in an 9 day period. That is tough on the pitching staff. In that same period they play the first of the Middletown series.

While I thought FF had played the toughest part of their schedule just the number of games in a short time period will make this next stretch more difficult instead of easier.

At the risk of looking like I am talking to myself - I just read the Pulse Journals account of the game against Mason - it looks like another tough loss for FF. This team seems to just find ways to lose instead of finding ways to win. 4 of the 6 Mason runs scored in an inning that included -0- hits out of the infield, pass ball, wild pitch, error. Are they snake bitten this year?

Snake bitten??? I'm not sure. Good teams make the plays, get the big hit, make the big pitch when needed. The others don't. The thing I find suprising is that a supposed large number of these kids have played at a high level of baseball during the summer season which would seem to lend itself to having the confidence to overcome these deficiencies. That is why it only takes in most cases one of these type situations to go your way to turn things around. On the other hand, some kids may have already "turned it off". It is week 3 of a roughly 6 week season, not much margin for error remains and as you have pointed out, things are not getting any easier.
