Sidney 4 Miamisburg 2

The Yellow Jackets upped their record with a great road win of Miamisburg who was 3-0. Brad Yinger picked up his 2nd victory of the season with 4+ Innings of solid work and Joe Engle slammed the door in the 7th for his first Save of the year. Jude DeLoye continued his hot start with 2 hits and 1 RBI. Xavier Foy & Spencer Rickert each recorded RBI singles.

Sidney got down 6-1 early but charged back to cut the lead to 2 in the 5th Inning. Miamisburg added another run in the 6th, as did Sidney to make it 7-5. Joe Engle doubled to left field to lead off the Bottom of the 7th for Sidney. After 2 outs by Miamisburg, Nick Waters hit a hopping grounder to 3rd which was thrown over the first basemen advancing Waters to Second & Engle scored to make it 7-6. Dean Ratliff made solid contact towards right-center but a Diving Catch by the Right-Fielder sealed the game for Miamisburg.

Sidney continues to be a bit off offensively, defensively and mentally and the result was a disappointing 7-6 loss to Miamisburg last night. The Jackets out hit the vikings 12-6, but Miamisburg continuously produced the timely hits and made the necessary defensive plays to come away victorious. Sidney allowed unearned runs in the 1st and 2nd and could never tie the score despite every starter registering a hit. Hopefully better days await the Jackets as they look to take advantage of some good weather with road games at Farimont and Beavercreek in the coming days.
