The Sidney Yellow Jackets are starting to look like the team from last season as they picked up their 3rd Win of the season & 2nd in a row.
Sidney defeated Fairborn 14-0 in 5 innings with Corey Echols getting his first start & pitching a complete game shutout.
After a 1-2-3 1st Inning with Echols striking out 2, Sidney started off hot...well hot would be an understatement as the Jackets piled on 10 runs in the 1st Inning. As Sidney batted around the order, lead-off man Shane Delligata hit a Grand Slam to Right-Center which capped off the 10 run inning.
Sidney would cool off as the game would be stopped for a 30-minute delay due to lightning in the 3rd Inning. Sidney would add a run in the 3rd Inning, and then 3 more in the 4th with Brad Yinger hitting a 2-RBI Triple. Fairborn only threatend to score once in the 5th with runners at the corners, but a pop-out & a Double Play would keep the shutout in tact for Junior Corey Echols.
Sidney evens their record at 3-3 on the year as they Travel to Kettering Fairmont tomorrow night.
