Alex Cole gets his first varsity win going 4 innings without giving up a hit and David Miller Pitched the 5th allowing no hits to give the Rams a A 5 inning no hit shutout... Chris Gaston clubbed 2 homeruns and Randy Bulach also Homered for the Rams David Miller Continued his hot hitting and and Tyler Pennington hit one off the wall to rattle the CNE pitchers all day!!!

the Rams improve to 4-1 and look to go back into league play tomorrow Vs the Edgewood Cougars the forecast is calling for rain but hopefully it holds off !!!

CNE had two Div I players last year. Not sure about this year. Depth is typically a big issue every year. Still, they're typically better than some of the FAVC teams so I wouldn't knock CNE (or Ross for scheduling them) too much.

hey that's a good schedule and as i read on another post about them beefing up their schedule, i'm sure it will help them in the playoffs. maybe this year they will get past the first round of the playoffs. it's about time they've realized how important it is to schedule better quality opponents. i thought you guys would have figured that out after this year's BB season especially after getting beat early in the tourney by CJ (GCL, play a tough schedule) familiar? that's why i was a little shocked to CNE on the schedule, that's all. and let's not rattle off stats in a 21-0 game let's look at the opponent. beat badin, hamilton, fairfield, edgewood (i know you did already), talawanda, northwest, the best of the west 21-0 and you can talk all you want.

Speaking of schedules-Moeller beat Bethel Tate yesterday. What the heck!

Gentlemen....sometimes you have an open date and you fill it with whoever you can to get some time on the field. My guess is that Bethel-Tate wasn't originally on Moeller's schedule, but they didn't want to waste a 75 degree, dry day by not playing a game and scheduled who was available yesterday....nothing wrong with that. Also, CNE had very respectable teams the last few years...nothing at all wrong with Ross playing them though they are not nearly as good this year as they were last year. The series was probably set up a few years ago. There is also nothing wrong with a cupcake or two on the non-conference schedule to get your young players some varsity experience....most teams do it.

Moeller-Bethel-Tate, come on. BTW-HS baseball is scheduled year by year. I agree that some easy wins are good for all involved, but for Moe, have to question that one.

I am no moeller fan by any stretch, but if Bethel-tate is all they could schedule yesterday, would they have been better off not playing?

basesloaded

also, you are correct in that baseball is scheduled year to year, however a lot of times there is a verbal agreement between 2 schools that we'll come to your place this year and you come to ours the following season.

basesloaded-YES. I would venture a guess that Moeller's second group is much better than anything Bethel-Tate has. That is not to diminish BT, but Moeller puts anywhere from 3-6 kids at DI universities every year. Plenty, plenty of talent at that school. Maybe the coaching staffs are buddies, IDK, but a win is a win.

Just a little fact you may have left out...CNE used two freshmen and a senior who has never pitched!!!! I'm not sure I would exactly call that "hot hitting".

slappy-that is normally why a program like Ross shouldn't/wouldn't play a team the caliber of CNE. Lack of pitching depth is the single biggest difference in the levels of HS baseball. Nothing against CNE but when you go outside your conference you would normally throw younger/inexperienced guys. I am sure that Ross also went the same route, just that Ross more than likely has greater depth at those positions. It is no different in college ball.

I said to the coach it may help with some confidence but I think it hurts more than helps... CNE usually always plays us tough they are just having a down year but yet they are still ranked in the top 10 in the city!!!!

my allegiance lies elsewhere from new miami and princeton. my name deals with something else, nice try though. as for LMAO right now, i find it more amusing when people get ejected from games they have nothing to do with or maybe even fighting with athletes after games. that's great?????? go ross

GCPRO-Just to let you know...a program like Ross (a good program) has lost the last 3 of 4 to CNE so " a team the caliber of CNE" can't be all that bad.

the last 2 years they played solid ball and had a very good catcher in Voschell (SP) last year, and the year before that they had a very solid team.. we usually play double headers but this season decide to play a week game!!

I find it also amusing that people have nothing better to do with their spare time than to dabble into other peoples business.. unlike some I do have a life outside Yappi and HS sports tell em' GC!!!!!!!!!!

Slappy-I stand corrected. But at 21-0, I would say a huge gap in talent level, freshmen pitchers or not. I have seen the Rams play, albeit only once and they are hardly on offensive juggernaut. Yet, I will be sure not to insult the CNE program again, afterall, they have one of my favorite coaches of all time in Basketball HC Jerry Doerger.

As for the Dawg-he definitely has a life beyond Yappi and HS sports. I was hopeful of getting to know some of his cast-offs.

don't get me wrong the last thing i want to do is insult a time of lesser talent than the Ross Rams, that is the last thing i would do and i give CNE more credit for playing ross than ross for playing them. as for my miserable life where i have nothing to do but dabble on yappi, yeah it is terrible, miserable, meaningless, gosh what can i possible do? LMAO!!! maybe i can spend all my time trying to make bpdawg mad? i guess i'll just go watch some west side little league games.

GCPRO-Thanks for giving a little respect, but I honestly feel that if CNE came into this game with the mindset it was a league game, the outcome would've been a lot different. The CNE kids heads were down before the game even started knowing that Ross would be launching missiles off freshmen who aren't ready to pitch at the varsity level. As for Coach "D" I had the honor of playing for him for 3 years and there's no one better!!
