In my personal opinion, Mizuno is top-of-the-line in all baseball (and volleyball) products. I recently purchased my coaching/training shoes from Mizuno. If it adds any credibility to my post, I work at a sporting goods store and also coach baseball. I will always depend on Mizuno for baseball products. Of course as always, it comes down to personal preference. Outside of baseball, I'm an Adidas guy.

The one thing I noticed about the Speed Trainer shoes while looking through the catalog at work was that, in its description, is described as "lightweight" where in fact it weighs 15oz. and is the heaviest shoe in their catalog, including all cleated, molded, and training shoes. I really enjoy my pair, though, and would recommend them to anyone. However, I would recommend also that you get fitted before you buy them. I have always worn anywhere between a 10.5 and 11.5 depending on the brand and type of shoe, but my Mizuno Speed Trainers are size 10 and fit very well.

Where do you recommend getting fitted? There does not seem to be too many stores that sell Mizunos... Thanks.

I am not sure where you're located. I work at Blaine Sports, Ltd. (Carmichael Sports) in Orrville, Ohio.

We are going to be getting a sizing order of the Speed Trainers in very soon because a few teams are getting them. If you are close, we can help you out with your shoes and anything else you need. Otherwise, I'm not sure who carries the Speed Trainers in ample stock.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm from the Dayton area.

I wear the Nike Diamond Trainers, Have two pairs of black ones and now a pair of blue from school since our colors are blue and gold. Had a pair of Adidas Falcons this summer when I thought I'd be wearing Adidas but school switched back to Nikes.
