Triway's 16u team should be pretty good. We will have all but 2 of next year's varsity starters on the 16u team, 6 of them are everyday starters right now on our varsity, and some of them started last year. Lots of experience, lots of athleticism, lots of talent.
Trap's 16U from Alliance. It is comprised of players from Alliance, Sebring, and West Branch.

yes watch out for the vipers. loaded with talent. most of them start on their respected varsity squads now and the majority of them played varsity as freshmen

The Buckeye Bobcats should field a pretty talented team.... two of the players are players that left the Tallmadge Vipers, one of thier better pitchers, and a speedy outfielder. Team is comprised of varsity players from Hoban,CVCA, Woodridge, Coventry, Garfield, Nordonia, North Canton, Northern Union County (Columbus)... Should have a pretty good year. Opens season up June 1st at JABC powerplay

Boys of Summer is a very good organization and hold very good tournaments in the Hudson/Akron area every year. I'd expect them to have a pretty good team.

I haven't heard anything about the 16u Boys. I do know that their top hitter is now with the vipers though. But with a program like theirs I'm sure they put together a respectable team.

you can ask that question of alot of teams the Hamilton Heat are playing 16u with 5 varsity pitchers on their staff.
and then you have the diamondbacks who are playing 17u with only 1-3 varsity players on their roster.. so it really dosnt matter, there is enough good baseball in the area that it really dosnt matter where you play!!!

You are right. Our 15 year Ohio Heat has 5 varsity starters Marcus Davis, TJ Plummer, Spencer Ware, Scott White, and more... but they are playing 15U and 16U were not allowed to play in the 16U Nationals although they are strong and are playing in the 16U division. Our 16U has 7 or more varsity players some of which are ALL Conference... Bo Cordell Indian Hill, Billy MCPartland Batavia (All Conference), Brandon Fuller, Glen Este, Zak McFarland-Milford, Nathan Smith (5-1) Lakota West, Nick Weaver, Mariemont, James Sheltron, Springboro, Kendall Kadish, Wyoming, Drew Owens, Fairfield and Justin Messinger, Clermont Northeast. and are playing at their age level, although they could beat many 17U teams. These teams practice and have intersquad scrimmages with the 17U team which plays in the 18's (has 6 players who could be playing 16U) and the 18U team which plays 18's and collegiate teams. Let them play where they have fun and get good competition. The kids from Barracks are some very good baseball players. Adam Baily and Randall McIntosh have played up with the Heat in the past and are very good athletes. Any good 16-17 year old team can be dangerous given the right pitcher, but for the long haul it is good to play age appropriate competition...

I think some will be surprised this year by the Cincinnati Bats/Post 72 team. They have added new players from Moeller, Batavia, Glen Este and Goshen just to name a few. They varsity level are Matt Marksberry Glen Este, John Schraer Anderson, hit over .600, JD Little Batavia, Nate Brohmagon Glen Este, Darren Garrett Goshen, was in the top 50 in batting this year, Donavan Schwalbach Amelia, Austin Newman Bethal-Tate. They also have help from alot of JV players Andrew Gerber, Tyler Godfrey and Nate Holtzclaw (who played varsity in state tournament) all from Glen Este who won the FAVC League Championship defeating Mason twice and going 18-3. Those from Moeller Brett Cisper, Matt Ceddia and Sage Iacovone. Rounding out with Micheal Hain from McNick. Pitching is looking good and the hitting in tonights game was dead on. They will start off their season as will many of the teams in Matt Maupin Tournament.

well BDbball7 you cant really say one person is going to be the best players because there are 9 different positions he could be the best SS or best pitcher or best Of or best C i thinkyou get my point so what position does this kid play and why havent i ever heard of him and who does he play for?
Well who is Paul Ross and who does he play for?

You'll have to excuse bdbball7 for his joke about a certain "Paul Ross." this was not a serious post.
The Tallmadge Vipers may play in 16 year old tournaments but they've gone independent with their schedule during the week. The Vipers play 18 year old teams such as the Ohio Yankees which, I'm sure is safe to say, has one of the most high-powered offenses of any summer team. So don't question the strength of schedule when concerning the Vipers. And where is this Barracks team from? Where do their players go to school?

I noticed on the FAVC website that there were no stats for MacIntosh. Has he been injured? If so, will he be ready for summer ball?

Ohio Heat 16U (formerly Midland Tomahawks) have 10 players who played varsity full time (3 all conference players) and 3 others who spent part of the season on their varsity teams. This team will be better and deeper than they have ever been!
luvdagame, I dont believe Randall is playing for Barracks. I knew the Heat would be very good. They seem to be just as talented as Barracks. Maybe Barracks and the Heat hook up for some games??? Good luck to all 16's this year.....

I can attest to the fact that this 16U team is stacked with players who could play at the 17 and 18 year old level and will. They are strong hitters and have at least 7 pitchers hitting the 80+ mph and a few hitting the mid to high 80's verified. Two of their pitchers are still not done with High School ball. One is an ace from Lakota West and the other from Wyoming HS. They are well coached by Chris Fuller, Aubrey Fuller, Steven Fuller, and Bill Messinger. If you play them yu better bring your AA++ game. It seems that he has switched teams quite a few times over the past few years. I know that Matt is a stud, but they have been through some pretty good teams recently. Is the Weststars orginization still together, or are they now calld Barracks? Not trying to stir anything up, just wondering.

no i'm not moving anywhere.
but it is almost the same weststars team with around 5 new players, just didnt work out with 3 kids leaving elder n going to oak hills, considering weststars is mostly an elder summer team
ive played with the flames, sluggers, and weststars, and if barracks is the most talented team i have been on so far

This team has alot of good players. But just like last year they are going to run short on pitching in tournaments.

so your saying your going to win more games and go farther in tournaments and achieve more with this team than than the above teams. We'll be watching and good luck.
Barracks won 3 of 7 tourneys last year. You said the same thing last year in regards to pitching.

barracks has also added a strong left handed pitcher mike hager, and adam bailey has a full time player. throw them in with woodward wilkins asman raleigh and birkoeffer. thats 6 of 7 varsity pitchers. im sure barracks will be fine with pitching
