I think it's going to be Lakota West then Lakota East then Sycamore. Sycamore is just losing to much to where the Lakota East is losing two good players like Sycamore to where as LW is only losing one.

lakota west? i do not believe they are good at all..last year they were pretty bad and had one good tall kid forget his name and that was their team...i think it is safe to say any of the following teams have the same chance to win it...

Lakota west did have a bad year last year but I think they will be back at the top again this year. I expect the Firebirds to shock some people this season.

yea right ive seen them play the last 5 years and they seem to not have posed a threat to anyone in quite some time. i think its fairlied, lakota east, sycamore. chase fields-better than spotts-better than marquart. if it is to be based on quality of the one good player on their teams

I've seen them all play... I think Chase has improved his game enough that he is the only player out of the three that could win matches without a supporting team... Spots needs good sets in middle which i don't know if anyone at east will be providing this year and marquart is an on and off player

Hard to say that Fields is a better player. Fields played with Spotts on the same JO team this summer. Spotts made all tourney team while Fields spent some of his time on the bench. This season will have to settle it.

I'm not saying Chase is a better player... I'm saying for the High School season this year... As an outside hitter Chase will have more opportunities to lead his team even if the sets aren't perfect or whatever... Spotts will have a lot harder time out of middle with inconsistant passing and setting... It's harder to run quick sets to the middle than it is to run high sets to the outside when the overall team is inconsistant. That is why I'm saying Chase will have a more productive season... If Lakota East has a decent setter who can get spotts the ball more then it'll be a lot closer...

Noticing the posts above about the other teams, here are my comments. Chase Fields is an excellent player and hitter. I played against him at my home court, and had to defend his hits, he hits hard and accurate. And as far as I know he is the only good thing coming out of Fairfield volleyball this year. Yeah, West had a bad year, the big guys name was Joe Vella I think. Played against him to, beat West in 3 though. He is also a great player. Oak Hills looks pretty good this year. I know they have 5 seniors, and a great chance of winning GMC, they only lost 2 GMC games last year. And was the only team to take Lakota East to 5 games. Here are my predictions....

I heard that oak hills lost their two best players? is this true....if so i dont see oak hills finishing in top 3 of gmc but i could be wrong

Wow you guys do stay informed. I play for Oak Hills, and yes last year we had our two best players on their Senior year, so they no longer play. But we have 5 this year still. Our best middle hitter pulled a muscle in his leg, were not sure if its torn or not, he could be back for season, he gets his MRI this week. But I think we will still be up to par, I think we can take GMC. People will be surprised with Oak Hills this year. Not only do we have 4 starting Seniors, but a lot of good juniors. But then again everyone on this site seems to love to rip on Oak Hills and say were so horrible so I'm excited to hear how bad everyone thinks we will be. GMC teams are in for a rude awakening.

we arent really ripping on you....we are just saying what is true about the program. They say defense wins games, plus as a setter I would like to have passes to target most of the time. Were not as strong at the net as we have been the past few years, but were ok.

it just seems that teams wouldn't focus on hitting to a defensive speacialist if they were any good...and sycamore has tony marquart the big goofy looking middle...he played back row for them last year which just shows how desperate they were...he is a decent middle but i doubt he will do a lot unless they have a half way decent setter which they may have...i don't know

Oh I see I was just wondering because everyone has them and East winning GMC and I wasn't sure why... I thought East lost a ton of Seniors. I remember last year they had that amazing setter, dont know his name tho.

Well All I know is The same 4 teams finish in top four every year. It seems its always Sycamore and East who trade for first and second followed by West and Oak Hills who also switch. Although Middletown did place slightly higher than my school last year. I member being surprised by Middletowns team this past year. They normally are horrible and had a decent team. Anyone who plays for another GMC team have their schedules yet? There not on CMC sports yet, but I was just checking. Im eager to see who my school plays.

Fields without a doubt. he carries a much bigger role than spotts does for lakota east. fairfield would be one of the worst teams in ohio if he wasnt there. lakota east would miss spotts, but not as much as fairfield would miss fields.

But head to head spots had around 20 kills and chase didn't even have 10. Not saying spots is a better player than chase but spots is averaging something like 19 kills a match... that’s pretty good if you ask me. But chase does have a much bigger load to carry and has to set from the back row. Don't forget to include the Jolly the Green Giant (Tony something) from sycamore and freshman standout Dylan Kembre from WEST!! All four players are having great years this season.

I will have to say Spotts as well... I have had a chance to play with most of the best players in the GMC. He seems to be the most well rounded player, who can probably touch the top of the antenna with the vertical that he has. I was not at all impressed with Marquardt, I expected him to be much better. I havent seen Chase play since last year, but he was really good so I'm sure he has gotten that much better...From GMC that is all of the players worth even mentioning.

Now after playing both Chase and Spotts, I would have to go with Spotts. The two of them both can crack the ball but Spotts was surprisingly a very good passer. Chase sets from the back row as didn't pass much so it is hard to say which one is better. Oh and when we played spotts Tuesday he got half of his hand above the antenna in the pre game warm up... ...
