I saw several previews last night on TV about the new Rocky movie coming out December 20...anyone have any thoughts about it? What have you read?

I saw previews a while ago at another movie, and it looks like "What if sports (a website): the movie".
I think he's dragging a fantastic character and story through the mud.
The plot just seems to unbelievable.

It will be the conclusion to a great series. I'll be there for the first showing

I wasnt a huge fan of the 5th one, so I'll probably wait to see this one when it comes out on DVD.

I heard that it's nothing that you haven't already seen.

Everyone knows it's going to be the same thing as the other 5. I don't see how you couldn't go see it in theaters if you are a fan of the series though.

It looks horrible IMO. Stallone is way to old and you can tell he's had some work done on his face. As much as I love the old one's, this is to much. I'll probably wait until it comes out on dvd instead of spending $9 at the movies.

Stallone is washed up and is doing everything he can to stay in the public eye. Rocky 4 and 5 were both horrbile and the previous movies were such bad acting it was hard to keep from laughing. Think of rocky 2 when Rocky was doing the commercial tell me you didnt laugh at how bad that was. If anyone waste their money on this GOD bless you.

Rocky 4 was awesome. IMO its the best out of all of them

From what I've seen it looks like a clone of #5. The genre is dead. It was great while it lasted
Rocky 1- great - they should've left it alone after that
Rocky 2 - love it - motivational - but the plot line totally unbelievable, and I won't comment on the acting.
Rocky 3 - "Rocky sells out". Enough said. A cartoon, not a movie
Rocky 4 - let's see. mid-80s. everyone hates the old Soviet Union. Let's make a movie pitting the USA against the USSR! OK! Movie stunk
Rocky 5 - barely saw it but it was horrible.
Shoulda stopped after 1 or had him fight & lose to Apollo (moral: you can't win em all) the second time and kill the series.

What they could've done with the second one is astounding. They could've had him fight the second time, only this time he loses but makes Apollo see that even in winning, he somehow lost. Done right, it could've worked and kept the credibility of the whole Rocky thing intact.

At least they are calling it "Rocky Balboa", and not "Rocky 6". This way, if it is as bad as it has the potential to be, it'll be easy to mentally separate it from the rest of them. Too bad they didn't do this with no. 5.

Seen it and it was good. How many of you no brainers have made any movies besides none. Rocky 3,4,5 lacked much but hey it's only a movie.

So if you haven't made a movie, you are a no brainer, because you criticize it?

I haven't seen 'Rocky Balboa' yet but it should be noted since it is now out that he admitted 'Rocky V' was a stinker... just so folks don't get confused... I think it's cool that they had an actual boxer play his opponent this time around... will only have to wait and see if Tarver can actually act.

Thanks for the correction. There have been so many sequels and the latest was getting such poor reviews, I lost track.
