Do you see the players on the field? Jimmy and Joe are not X and O proof. They run good things but the kids are not able to execute. The system is good, the players are not
 
Springfield (not positive) I dont think has been the last team in their league most of these years. Has the teams that finish below them fired their coaches?
 
Now we will take the L next week, but after, if we can proceed to run the table against Norton and Springfield (sorry Springfield, much respect to you, but we need the W), we can walk out of the season with the first winning record in too long. 6-4 is our aim. Barring the upset of the decade against Woodridge, we are not making the playoffs.
 
Its not gonna be that easy. All of Springfields players are healthy and clicking. The only reason Ravenna got any scores is because Tracy Jordan was out and both the scores were around his side.

What happened last night did Streetsboro start playing the #2s too early?
 
1st half should not have been as bad. Burkhart was sick, didn't play, he was supposed to be put on carter. Carter was causing problems. 2nd half, guess we were just sick of losing, played defense, and just started running the ball. Streetsboro might have got its 2s out at first, but they definitely stopped doing that pretty quickly after our first score.
 
Nah, I have to work tonight, unfortunately. I have to work in the evenings a lot, cause I take classes at U of Akron. About the game, not sure how tonight will go. Burkhart had a little injury against 'Boro, Burkhart hurt his ankle against Woodridge. If neither of them play tonight, Springfield wins. If they do play, I'd say Coventry. Coventry has talent, a handful guys who are pretty athletic, but not a ton of depth. A couple of them get injured, back to the usual mediocrity for us.
 
Well, F***, another season down the drain. Damn, I really thought we would finish the season with a winning record. Well, gg. Might as well just get pumped for basketball season.
 
Special teams buried you guys. You had a lot of good plays but couldn't get the job done. Your QB gots talent and I think #14 or 11# wide receiver was very good. No discipline at all on the sidelines . The coaches got down on them boys as soon as they started screwing up. It was embarrassing..

Yeah your right, like last year when we couldn't break past SVSM in the district finals. Definitely a let down. Nah, I think the basketball team should be fine. We were pretty good last year. We got new coach, some talent coming up.
 
lol, the ellet crowd seems to be the only ones who cant admit that Coventry actually had put forward a pretty good team by the end of last Basketball season. smh. Whats the matter with ellet, honestly. Have we recruited somebody out of your schools a while ago?, is that it?

I'd love to talk Coventry hoops with you, perhaps we need a new thread on the Coventry page. Saw Coventry JV in the summer league at East several times.

I'm quite familiar with the Coventry football and basketball scene. My stepsons played there from youth to 8th grade and still have several friends and coaches over there.
 
I would love to do that on the Coventry thread, but it is kind of empty over there, nobody has really posted in years. I just hang out on the main threads, and here because it is active (relatively). At any rate, I've not deluded myself into thinking Coventry basketball is going to be like they were last year. They graduated a lot last year. The cupboard is definitely not empty going forward with Treon Sibley, Drew Williams, Jarmond Hogg, Nate Skaggs, Sam Vanadia, and Dusty Burkhart. And maybe we'll pick up a transfer or two from Garfield or Kenmore. JV went 21-1 last season. With the exception of Burkhart, the team is just young, and will need to get some varsity experience.
