DANVILLE RUNS WILD The night started with a really nice tribute to the fallen american heros. A very good prayer was made by the PA anoucer. The game opened with Danville flexing it's muscles early as they would score on their first drive. A long 35 yard pass from senior quarterback Dave Colopy (6'0" 178) to spiltend Kyle Doup (jr 5'10" 162) would get the offense started. Another long pass, this time for 26 yards to Brian Swarts (sr 6'4" 170) tightend would set up a 1 yard run by the MVP of the game, Dustin Dawson (sr 6'1" 200 rb). After little Ron Wallace (jr 5'7" 154) kicked the extra point, the score was 7-0 Danville with 9:21 left in the first. Northridge's Eddie Smith would get things started with a 40 yard kickoff return. Smith again would strike, this time with a 26 yard run. A 6 yard run by Bon Strout (jr 5'6" 152wingback) would give the vikings their first score. The extra point kick was good by Jay Maggard (sr 6'1" 208) and with 8:22 left in the first it was all tied at seven. Danville was driving but a big sack by Marshall Goodman (jr 6'0" 195 lb) forced the Blue Devils to punt. Northridge would be forced to punt but the Blue Devils would fumble the ball and the vikings would come up with it. The offense would get to the 11 yard line but would have to settle for a 28 yard field goal attempt by Maggard that sailed wide right. Blue Devil quarterback Colopy would find Ryan Colopy (6'0" 175 rb) wide open for a 46 yard completion. This would set up another touchdown by Dustin Dawson, this time from 1 yard out. After the extra point, it was 14-7 with 11:24 left in the second. Northridge would be forced to punt again but Danville would fumble and the Vikings would recover. This time the result would end with a 14 yard touchdown run by Billy Pomeroy (jr 5'9" 160 wingback). The extra point was no good and with 6:35 left in the second, the Blue Devils clung to a one point lead; 14-13. Northridge would get the ball back and again have to punt. This time Danville would get a 90 yard return by the fast and slick running Ryan Colopy. A two point converstion on a muffed play would give Danville a 22-13 lead, and that's how the half would end. Northridge would come out in the third and get things started right away. The first big call by the Northridge coaching staff was to go for it on 4th and 1 and the vikings would get the 1st down. That would lead to a touchdown on a one yard run by Strout. After the extra point, the score would be 22-20 Danville with 7:22 left in the third. Danville would get the ball back and strike on a 31 yard run by the speedster, Ryan Colopy. The point after would be good by Wallace and with 4:45 left in the third Danville was in control 29-20. Northridge would only have one big play after that and that would be a beautiful long pass by senior quarterback Tony Cooperrider (6'4" 195)to eddie smith. Danville would score twice more; the first would be Dustin Dawson on a 5 yard run and the second would be another dawson touchdown, his fourth, on a 19 yard run.
