NAVARRE—Everyone knows Lindsey Gaut is the talk of the town when it comes to Fairless Lady Falcons basketball. Everyone is accustomed to seeing her score points while leading the Falcons to victory. She would also be quick to point out that she has had plenty of help, this season and from teammates and underclassmen. Two of these are juniors Carol Angel and Kelly King.

Both girls are members of the Lady Falcons basketball and track teams at Fairless High School. Angel is the daughter of Alan and Amy Angel. King is the daughter of Scott and Kris King.

Both girls possess great talent in their respective sports. Off the floor though, each are honor roll students as Angel possesses a flawless 4.0 grade-point average while King is not too far away with a 3.8 average.

Angel and her technician’s mind and analytical abilities, enjoys pre-calculus because it allows her to develop problem-solving for life and athletics. King enjoys a prep line up of classes with her favorite in med-tech class. She plans to pursue a career in medicine and this is perfect, preparing her for where she wants to go.

Both girls enjoy playing for head coach Tim Vick and with the big bird, Gaut.

“I love playing with Lindsey. She is a great person and a great friend to be around with on and off the floor,” Angel said.

“It is a blessing to play with such a team player like her,” King added.

Both girls started playing basketball since the fourth grade. Both girls want to win the state basketball championship and then turn their sights to track and field season.

Angel has been competitive in track since seventh grade while King began her track career in eighth grade.

Angel will compete in the 400, 4x4, and the long jump, where she intends to break personal records and place in many invitations as possible. King will compete in the pole vault, something that she has done since eighth grade.

One thing most people do not know about these two is that they both still love cartoons.

“I still love watching cartoons. When pressed, she finally confessed: I love Scooby-Doo,” Angel said gleefully. “He is the greatest crime dog ever!”

King has slightly more refined tastes. “I like cartoon movies. My favorite is Monsters Inc.” she said.

Lindsey Gaut might be the talk of Fairless Lady Falcons basketball but don’t forget about the Angel and the King too. These girls are serious about basketball and life, but not too serious that they still can’t enjoy themselves.
